| So, lets recap for me, because sometimes I'm slow ( like today after the 3am-er) What are the days of this soccer weekend?? 2( friday ) ? 3 ( saturday)? 4(sunday)? or is this a friday - monday thing?? And also recapping, Ian, tickets 30 euros plus tax?? And which nights are we staying in Siena?? Which are we travelling back and forth?? See, not a soccer fan so I am already lost on this topic!! what else.......oh...lost my train of thought....... | |

| ok so Nikki here's what's been planned:
-the night of the 2nd we are staying in Siena -on the 3rd, we take the train to Milan, stay the night of the 3rd -the game is on the 4th, so we should stay the night of the 4th too -the morning of the 5th, we leave Milan back to Cortona
hope this helps! | |

| When I was looking for Hostels for my own, pre-term travel I thought Hotel The Best and Hotel San Tomaso both seemed good. Both are quite close (easy walking distance) to the central station and a main shopping area. I agree with Nikki, a nice clear recap of the standing plans for this weekend would be great. edit: ok, I guess I'm not the only one on here at the moment. Thanks for the recap Elise. I have class Monday morning though so I think I'll need to head back on the 4th. I assume others are in the same situation?

| i think i counted 7 ppl that have written in this topic, so if everyone could confirm their interest that they wanna take part in this trip, that would be good, so we can book the siena and milan hostels
ciao ciao

| Consider me confirmed, though like I mentioned I have class Monday morning. I suppose that means training back Sunday night and sleeping in Cortona depending on what time I get there. | |

| hey dave
i got class at liek 9 or 930(italian) but ill prb just skip that and go to my italian lab which is at 1 or 130
the thing about taking the train through the night, is that the hostel will be locked, so i dont know what one would do in that case

| Ian,
Ya I realized I missed the whole 3rd page of this discussion where the Cortona hostel hours were mentioned. I forgot about that. If we can find a way to still make it back, maybe a late train from Milan through the night which gets to Cortona in the early morning (a few hours of sleep on the train) that would be great but if not I suppose missing one class isn't the end of the world.
It's been a long time since I've studied another language so I think I'll need all the help I can get, otherwise I probably wouldn't worry about the class so much.

| hey dave
ok here's what i found...there is a train that leaves at 23:00 aka 11pm and arrives in cortona at 6:03am
the next leaves at 1:25 am and arrives in cortona at 9:03 am
from the cortona bus station, we have to take a bus i think to get back home so you prb have to add 10-15 min roughly from departure of train at cortona to our hostel in cortona
so if you really wanna get back for the class, we would have to take the 23:00 train. if you wanna do that ill do it with ya, i am the same with languages..i really wanna learn italian but learning languages is hard for me

| elise, I am staying the night of the 4th as well. Not too worry I think we have equal number of people staying on the 4th and leaving the evening of the 4th. | |

| hey dave,
one last thing haha
i forgot the game, as of now, is at 15:00 aka 10 or 11 am..so if it stays at that time (which i dont think it will..it will prb change to 20:30) we can easily take a train home sunday and arrive by early evening or so

| Nikki what's happening is that we are cancelling the night of Januray 3rd at Siena so that we can stay in Milan for the nights of the 3rd (for those of us who have class on Monday - and are not skipping) and 4th (for those of us who do not have class on Monday- or are skipping).
The hostel Elise kindly booked us in is called "Hostel the best" in Milan, which is one of the two Ian had suggested.
The tickets for the game I think are running up to be 30 euros + tax.

| Thank you Maria!! That was beautifully clear!! Ok. So, now, the only factor that will help me make up my mind about the soccer ( I think I'm leaning towards it though) is wether or not there are people staying back in Siena rather than going to the game. People, share with me your thoughts. | |
